Maintenance Tip: Keep your lawn mower clean.

It's not necessary to spit shine and wax your mower, but keep the grass and dirt away from the engine cooling fins. This is located on top of the engine and it needs to breathe.

Also, remove grass, dirt, and debris from on top of the riding mower deck. This keeps pulleys and belts moving freely without overheating.

Dirty Mower Deck

Yes you can hose it off. When finished, just engage the mower blades and let them turn for a few minutes to induce drying and to re-heat the bearings.

Your lawn mower is subject to heat exhaustion. It can overheat and catch on fire!
